These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Merchant Rate Auditor LLC's ("Merchant Rate Auditor," "we," "us") website and merchant-statement analysis service (the "Service"), including the Free Statement Scan and paid Monitor and Pro plans. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Business Eligibility
The Service is for businesses and authorized adult users acting on a business's behalf. If you connect a merchant processor account, you represent that you have the authority to act for the business that owns that account.
What Merchant Rate Auditor Provides
Merchant Rate Auditor provides tools for merchant statement review, processor fee analysis, connected processor monitoring where technically supported, processing- cost reports, alerts and findings, and supporting customer assistance. This analysis is educational and informational, and its output depends on the accuracy and completeness of the information contained in the statements you submit or the data your connected processor makes available.
Available features vary depending on your subscription, your processor, API availability, the permissions your processor grants, geographic availability, and other third-party limitations. We do not guarantee that every processor can be connected, or that automated statement retrieval is available for every processor.
Merchant Rate Auditor does not guarantee any specific savings, refund, fee recovery, processing-rate reduction, or other financial outcome. Nothing in the Service constitutes an offer, promise, or guarantee of results.
Your Account and Account Security
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account and business profile.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity that occurs under your account, and must report any unauthorized access promptly.
- You may not attempt to access another merchant's data, another merchant's processor connection, or bypass any access control.
- You represent that you have the right and authority to upload and share any statement or document you submit to the Service, and that doing so does not violate any agreement or law that applies to you.
Processor Authorization
When you connect a supported processor, you authorize Merchant Rate Auditor to access and process only the information allowed by the permissions you approve, for the purpose of providing the Service.
A monitoring connection does not authorize Merchant Rate Auditor to initiate charges, issue refunds, move or hold funds, initiate payouts, modify processor settings, or obtain your processor password.
Customer Data Rights
You retain your rights in your data and documents. You grant Merchant Rate Auditor only the rights reasonably necessary to host, process, analyze, display, secure, and support that information for the purpose of providing the Service. You represent that you are authorized to submit or connect the information you provide.
Free Statement Scan
The Free Statement Scan lets you upload a statement at no cost to see key findings, with no obligation to purchase a paid plan.
Paid Subscription Plans
Merchant Rate Auditor currently offers two paid subscription plans, Monitor ($49/month) and Pro ($149/month), each billed on a recurring monthly basis through our payment processor, Stripe. You can view current plan pricing on our Pricing page. Payment card and billing information is collected and processed directly by Stripe — Merchant Rate Auditor does not collect or store your full card details.
You can manage or cancel either plan at any time through the Stripe-hosted billing portal available from your account (the same cancellation process applies to both Monitor and Pro). Cancelling stops future renewal billing for that plan. If you cancel, you retain access through the end of your then-current paid billing period; your plan does not end immediately merely because you cancelled future renewal. Cancelling does not delete your account or previously submitted statements.
Refunds
We do not provide a prorated refund for the unused portion of an already-started billing period, except where required by applicable law.
This is not a statement that payments are never refundable under any circumstance — if you believe a charge was made in error, or you have another billing concern, contact hello@merchantrateauditor.com and we will review it.
How Statement Information Is Currently Provided
As of this writing, Merchant Rate Auditor does not automatically retrieve your merchant processing statements from your processor. You provide statements by uploading them yourself. This applies equally to both Monitor and Pro — neither plan currently includes automated statement retrieval, and any future automated acquisition capability is intended to be made available to both paid plans together, not to one plan only.
Savings and Findings Language
Merchant Rate Auditor uses three distinct, non-interchangeable terms:
- Estimated Opportunity — an item deserving investigation; not guaranteed savings.
- Claimed Savings — an amount you or a reviewer reports as recovered, reduced, or corrected; not independently verified.
- Confirmed Savings — an amount supported through Merchant Rate Auditor's own controlled evidence-verification process.
Merchant Rate Auditor does not guarantee savings, does not guarantee refunds, and does not guarantee processor concessions.
No Professional Advice
Merchant Rate Auditor is an information and monitoring service. Unless separately agreed in writing, it is not legal advice, tax advice, accounting advice, or investment advice.
Third-Party Processors
Processor APIs and platforms (including Stripe and Square) are third-party services outside our control. They may restrict or change their APIs, experience outages, remove functionality, or return incomplete information. Merchant Rate Auditor is not responsible for third-party platform outages or policies outside our control.
